Remoulade Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1-2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons capers, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickles or cornichons, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, whole-grain mustard, and fresh lemon juice. Mix well to combine.

  2. Add the minced garlic, hot sauce, paprika, and cayenne pepper to the mayonnaise mixture. Adjust the amount of hot sauce and cayenne pepper to your desired level of spiciness. Mix thoroughly.

  3. Stir in the finely chopped green onions, capers, dill pickles (or cornichons), and fresh parsley. These ingredients add texture and a burst of flavor to the sauce.

  4. Taste the remoulade sauce and season it with salt and black pepper to your liking. Remember that pickles and capers can add some saltiness, so be cautious when adding salt.

  5. Once all the ingredients are well combined, cover the remoulade sauce and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together and develop.

  6. Serve the remoulade sauce chilled as a dip or condiment for your favorite dishes.
